6/15/26 2026 CAT Season is Here!

The 2026 CAT season is underway and we’re all hoping for a good storm (or two!)

2026-Atlantic-Hurricane-Names

We want to help you get deployed and the best chances for that are to make sure (while there is still time) you have setup and completed your roster profile on our website. By taking a few minutes and thoroughly answering the profile questions, uploading your resume AND headshot, you will be in the best position for rapid deployment. Moving forward, it will be the adjuster’s responsibility to make sure they keep their profiles current/up-to-date with accurate information. The roster profile has become our main resource when making deployment determinations, so again – be thorough in your answers! (This means don’t just answer “yes” or “no” when the question is asking for years of experience.)

We’ve also added a question recently to the roster that everyone should complete:

If you’re unemployed and ready for deployment, we want to know! If you’ve accepted a position, we want to know that too! Please take the time to login and answer this critical question, located near the top of the General Information section.

If you haven’t set up your roster profile yet but you’re receiving our texts, you can click the FKS Portal button in the upper right corner of our website, or visit, www.fks-insurance.com/login and complete a password reset using the email address we had on file. Not sure what email we have? Send a message to info@fks-insurance.com and provide your details and we can look it up for you. If you’re new to the roster, you’ll want to visit www.fks-insurance.com/join-our-team to stay in the loop.

We look forward to working with you this 2026 season!

2/16/2026 With Great Sadness...

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of our partner and friend, David Serfass.

It goes without saying that David was an integral part of FKS and a respected leader in the insurance adjusting community. He was well known for his expertise and for generously sharing his knowledge and helping shape the careers of countless professionals in our industry.  Those who worked with David knew his steady leadership, depth of knowledge and unwavering commitment to doing things the right way. His impact on our company and our industry cannot be overstated.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, David was a trusted colleague, mentor, and friend. His integrity, dedication, and steady presence helped define who we are as a company.

We are shocked and deeply saddened by this loss. During this difficult time, we ask that you keep David’s family, friends, and all who knew him in your thoughts and prayers.

We will share additional information as it becomes available. We appreciate your patience and support as we navigate this tremendous loss.

2026 NFIP Certification Information and Class Schedule

Independent insurance adjusters must hold a Flood Control Number (FCN) to work in flooded communities. You can get your FCN after completing the NFIP’s adjuster webinar. Make sure you meet other criteria and have filled out the registration form before you begin practicing.

Classes fill up quickly and interested field adjusters should not delay registering for the six-hour course, which presents an overview of NFIP flood insurance claims handling practices, including policy provisions, adjustment procedures, and documentation standards. Successful course completion is required in order to apply for a Flood Control Number (FCN) card, earn CE credit, and to receive a certificate of course completion.

Any FKS adjusters wishing to work flood claims this year should a CAT or other flooding event happen, are required to have a current FCN card and at minimum two years flood claims experience. In Florida you are also required to be self-appointed.
