Flood Field Claims

We hope you never suffer a flood loss, but if you do, we want to make your claim process as stress-free as possible. Our in-house, flood claims management team provides proven catastrophe handling expertise, 24-hour claims reporting, and flood adjusters dedicated to integrity and service.

In the world of property insurance claims adjusting, flood claims are unique. These claims require an intimate knowledge of how the policies and procedures of FEMA and the N.F.I.P. claims process work. And, they also demand that specific circumstances behind the existing damage be properly evaluated. In addition, certain data points of the flood claim must be documented in order to meet filing standards.

Is it flood or is it wind? Properly answering that question can completely change the nature of the claim for both the policyholder and our insurance client. When handling N.F.I.P. and excess coverage policies, our certified flood adjusters identify and segregate each type of loss. Then, for flood losses, they follow our specific process and adjust each claim based on both our clients’ and our internal guidelines. With a handpicked team of certified flood adjusters, we are capable of quickly assembling a field-tested team to respond to any flood catastrophe.

Our supervisory team completes open file reviews as well as closely monitoring productivity levels and closure ratings. Over the years, we have required adjusters to account for their new opens, reopens and closures at the beginning of each week. This provides us the opportunity to report back to the carrier and also gives accountability and knowledge to the adjuster when they are or are not meeting certain criteria or requirements.

FKS Insurance Services implements Internal Quality Assurance Audits. We employ support to perform timely and consistent audits to ensure a quality claims experience for our clients. Our supervisors complete training tools, webinars, and conference calls with the adjusters which relates to the policy, procedures, estimates, guidelines, timelines, and customer service to strive for the highest level of quality assurance ratings. Our in-house examiners/supervisors review 100% of the field claims prior to submittal in striving to achieve perfect QA scores. We also try to review 10% of the closed files to ensure our quality of claims.
