Michael Ferrier is an independent claim adjusting company owner with 30 years of experience in flood claims management. Michael's experience includes working with State Wind Pools and other State-Run Programs, as well as the National Flood Insurance Program. Michael has a strong background in insurance policy application, training and claims operation management, including daily and catastrophe operational workflows. Michael has successfully coordinated operations with multiple office locations and staffing more than 500 personnel.

Mr. Ferrier is currently under contract with H2O Partners, Inc. assisting with the current flood adjuster training and certification for the NFIP throughout the country. He has performed NFIP Adjusters Presentations with H2O since 2012. Prior to H2O, Mr. Ferrier was Flood Trainer, and Flood Claims Manager, and Flood Claims Coordinator for State Farm since 1992.

Mr. Ferrier retired from State Farm Insurance and formed his own adjusting firm, FKS Insurance Services LLC in 2015. He’s responsible for securing new clients and expansion of FKS Claim Service business, as well as managing property claims adjusters. He has expanded claims operations to Florida, Arizona, California, Louisiana, Missouri, and Ohio. Mr. Ferrier developed the policy training program and taught ISO policy training classes for private carriers and residual market carriers. He developed train-the-trainer programs for State Farm to assist in the administration of training. He has also conducted orientation training for large numbers of adjusters for catastrophe operations for the State Farm Catastrophe Services Program.

Mr. Ferrier has recently served as an expert witness and represented various “Write your Own” companies in mediation hearings regarding the Standard Flood Insurance Policy. He has testified in Federal Court proceedings regarding flood policy issues and related coverage issues under the National Flood Insurance Program.

FKS Insurance Services currently handles flood, homeowners, and disputed claims for numerous insurance companies throughout the continental United States. FKS Insurance Services is based in St. Petersburg, Fl. with offices in Tarpon Springs, Florida, Palmetto, Florida, and Tremont, Illinois.
Experience Highlights
  • NFIP Adjuster Trainer for H2O from 2012 to the present. Presented over 50 NFIP Adjuster workshops throughout the country
  • One of 4 management personnel selected to establish a 10-week training school. Responsible for material development and educating and training over two hundred adjusters per year
  • Development of State Farm Web Based Flood Training program.
  • Development of State Farm Agency Flood Policy Training program. Rolled the program out on a national basis and qualified it for CE in states where applicable
  • Established a web-based training library for State Farm Catastrophe Services
